Massage for your dog?! Absolutely! Massage has many of the same benefits for our canine companions as it does for humans. Just like us, dogs experience stress, anxiety, sore muscles, joint discomforts as a result of age, environmental factors, and too much or too little activity. Did you know that animal massage uses the same techniques as in human massage? Sweetish Massage, Sports Massage, Trigger Point therapy, Acupressure, Reflexology; to name a few. Along with learning massage techniques, a massage therapist studies include anatomy, physiology and pathology. There are many reasons an owner or veterinarian would seek massage therapy for a canine patient, such as:
